AmeriCorps Program Coordinator: This full time position reports to the Vice President of Programs. The AmeriCorps Program Coordinator leads program implementation and execution to ensure all stakeholders have an exceptional experience. 


  • Implement a strategy to successfully recruit and retain high-quality AmeriCorps Members.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with project partners from Missouri Community Service Commission, Mission STL, other regional AmeriCorps programs, the International Institute and AmeriCorps Members.
  • Facilitate Member training and coaching, to ensure successful program implementation.
  • Ensure the program meets all standards and requirements of the AmeriCorps grant.
  • Support supervisors and Members to ensure Members successfully complete their term of service
  • Maintain sound organizational management and documentation systems and practices compliant with federal laws and regulation, Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) requirements, Missouri Community Service Commission, Mission STL and International Institute of St. Louis policies and procedures.
  • Develop strong collaborations with local and regional AmeriCorps programs to support program goals and promote quality Member experiences.
  • Represent the International Institute at local, regional and national trainings, meetings, and events.


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Leadership abilities including time management, problem solving, decision making, priority setting and organization
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Personal transportation, valid drivers license and applicable insurance
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Computer skills including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office products
  • Ability to work autonomously and be directly accountable for program compliance


  • Prior experience in program and grant management
  • Fluency in any of the following languages: Arabic, Somali, Swahili, Spanish, Dari, Nepali
  • Knowledge of human resources practices
