The International Institute of Southwest Missouri is hiring a full time Intake and Assessment Specialist.  This position is full time, with benefits and to start immediately.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Understand and support the agency's mission, vision and core values ?
  • Maintain a working knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures  
  • Provide culturally competent, equitable client services with minimal direct supervision
  • Collect demographic info for newly arrived and returning clients and enter into appropriate database
  • Assess and enroll clients into appropriate program based on client need and program eligibility requirements
  • Review and record eligibility documentation and complete enrollment into programs
  • Complete quick intake for entering refugees, asylees, parolees, immigrants, naturalized citizens and the US-born children of refugee parents and updating contact information for returning clients
  • Schedule appointments for clients to meet with case specialists across programs
  • Collaborate with staff and participate in departmental meetings and projects, and ensuring high level of client satisfaction
  • Closely collaborate with the Client Services staff to assist in creating synergy amongst the program's training, pre-screening, career development, and outreach strategies
  • Review enrollment reports to confirm eligibility and program compliance
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client records and information
  • Other assigned duties include report writing, faxing, scanning, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two years related experience and/or related expertise
  • Driver's license and Insured Vehicle
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good verbal and written communication skill in English
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and especially with multiple cultures and multiple people.
  • Strong organizational skills

Other Information Salaried, non-exempt position; Experience working in a multi-cultural environment preferred; Fluency in a second language preferred; Experience working with electronic health record systems preferred.
