Working directly with immigrants, refugees and asylees, the immigration specialist will complete and submit federal immigration documents for citizenship, permanent residence status and family reunification. Position is also responsible for application follow ups including communications with government entities and US embassies.  In addition, position is responsible for generating and collecting Institute charged immigration fees. Immigration specialist must be, or willing to obtain, DOJ accreditation.

  • Attend agency and department meetings, trainings
  • Attend professional development as required for DOJ accreditation
  • Other duties assigned as needed.


  • Must be DOJ accredited or eligible for accreditation
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, social services or related field
  • Proficiency in using web-based client database programs and Microsoft office programs
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Manage multiple tasks at once
  • Able to make sound, quick and ethical decisions
  • Work well with limited supervision and under stressful conditions
