The International Institute of St. Louis is seeking a part time team member to conduct outreach to local organizations around the cultural and specialized behavioral health needs incoming refugees, SIV, and Afghan parolees. This position will play a critical role in training and information dissemination to bolster community capacity to support the needs of recently arrived immigrants. This is a non-exempt position that reports to the Director of Social Work. This position is currently funded through 6/30/22.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct outreach to local community groups, inclusive of medical/behavioral health groups among others, identifying training needs and opportunities
  • Respond to community requests for information/trainings
  • Assist in the development of training content
  • Schedule and coordinate logistics for trainings
  • Assist in the implementation of trainings to community groups
  • Manage data outcomes for trainings, inclusive of data on training post-tests/evaluations

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:  Bachelor’s degree

2 years experience with community outreach

2 years experience with training facilitation

 

Knowledge and Abilities:

High degree of professionalism;

Effective and professional interpersonal and communication skills;

Ability to process information quickly;

Knowledge of cultural competency/cultural humility best practices;

Strong training/presentation skills;

Must be able to focus on details and ensure accuracy in reporting and giving information;

Knowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centered frameworks;

Knowledge of refugee services and/or behavioral health services

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Canva, Prezi

High comfort level in working with computer systems;

Must have knowledge of and the ability to adhere to confidentiality standards;

Must be cordial in working under pressure and/or meeting deadlines;

Ability to follow tasks through to completion;

Must be able to work well both independently as well as part of a team;

Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel
