The International Institute of St. Louis is hiring for a full time position to work with the St. Louis community to support refugee resettlement. Position is funded through September 2021, with potential for on-going funding beyond September.  Position will outreach to community groups and individuals to provide refugee resettlement services; train and coordinate services provided by community; collect and distribute donations. 

Position will:

  • Identify and outreach to community groups
  • Provide refugee resettlement presentations to community groups and individuals
  • Enhance and update previous community programming
  • Train community volunteers
  • Document services provided by community
  • Collect and distribute community donations
  • Work within a diverse staff team, matching volunteers with refugee needs
  • Participate in agency and department meetings and trainings
  • Report any client concerns to supervisor and/or appropriate staff
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client information
  • Some weekend and evening work hours
  • Other duties as assigned


  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task balancing needs of community, refugees and agency 
  • Able to work in a high activity environment,with excellent time management skills
  • High comfort level providing group presentations
  • Excellent written English skills
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Ability to diffuse complaints/conflicts
  • Understand and adhere to professional boundaries
  • Comfort using and knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint
  • Must have a car and valid driver's license with proof of insurance
  • Willing to obtain a MO chauffeur license
