IISTL is seeking a Director of Workforce Solutions to lead the development, execution, and evaluation of programs and services designed to connect foreign-born workers to training, employment, and career attainment. This is a fully-benefited, full-time, exempt position that is a part of the agency leadership team and reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Programs.
Responsibilities
Effectively communicate the organization's mission, vision and core values
Develop, review and ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures
Identify, obtain, ensure effective management of departmental and agency resources
Authorize staff recruitment and ensure on-going development of staff members
Create and monitor grant budgets, ensure grant reporting deadlines are met
Identify and establish effective relationships with community partners
Represent department in cross-agency collaborations
Foster and manage external relationships
Engage in IISTL strategic plan development and execution
Support agency-wide collaboration as part of agency Leadership Team
Position Duties
Lead the development and execution of department programs
Grant writing in collaboration with Program Grants Coordinator
Engage with community partners and supporters to enhance and grow opportunities for engagement
Provide administrative supervision for department staff including verifying timesheets, check requests, and time-off requests, etc.
Provide direct supervision for Workforce Solutions team members
Lead data collection and analysis for grant reporting and quality improvement
Participate in cross-departmental collaboration within the Programs division
Stay abreast of employment best practices and innovations in the workforce sector
Qualifications
MA or equivalent of BA plus 4 years related work experience
Proficiency using web-based client database programs and Microsoft Office products
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to network and build professional relationships for the department and agency across sectors and with individuals of various backgrounds
Program and staff management experience required
Strong budgeting, problem solving , and time management skills
Able to follow, interpret, communicate and evaluate agency policy
Ability to direct activities across multiple work areas
Ability to motivate, direct, and provide feedback to a diverse staff
Previous experience in grant writing and reporting
Supervisory experience of at least 3 years
Strong familiarity with workforce development and employment landscape of the region preferred
